Effective Date: 1 March 2024 · Last updated: September 2026
This policy covers all Athena BDA web properties under the athenabda.com domain. None of our properties use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for visitors in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, or other non-US regions. This policy explains what browser storage and data collection we do use across each property.
Cookies: None set by Athena BDA.
Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service. Plausible operates without cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individuals across sessions or devices. It records aggregate data only (page views, referrer sources, country-level geography). Plausible itself does not require a consent banner under GDPR or the UK PECR. You can read Plausible's data policy at plausible.io/data-policy.
Links in business emails we send may include a short reference code. When the page opens in a browser, our own software records the visit and page path against the contact record we already hold. This is first-party processing sent to our own secure database, it sets no cookie, and no third-party advertising or analytics provider is involved. The reference code is then removed from the address bar. Full details are set out in our Privacy Notice under "Email Campaign Click Tracking".
We no longer use third-party website visitor identification. The RB2B service previously described here has been removed from our website and is no longer in use.
Cookies: None.
Local Storage: We use your browser's localStorage to maintain your login session while you are using the application. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to third parties. It is cleared when you log out.
Cookies: No advertising or tracking cookies are set by our application.
We use sessionStorage to store a temporary session ID during your active session. This data exists only in your browser tab and is automatically cleared when you close the tab. It is never transmitted to third parties.
We collect usage data within the Intelligence Hub to understand how customers engage with the product and to improve it. This includes page views, module access (e.g. Brand Scorer, Conferences, Monthly Prompts), active dwell time, and session identifiers. This data is stored in our own secure database and is not shared with third parties. It is linked to your account and used solely for product improvement and customer support purposes.
We offer sign-in via Google and Microsoft (Azure). When you choose to sign in using one of these providers, you are temporarily redirected to their authentication services. These providers may set their own cookies or use their own local storage during the sign-in process, governed by their own privacy policies:
Athena BDA does not receive or store your Google or Microsoft credentials. We only receive a confirmed identity token confirming successful authentication.
Our marketing website (athenabda.com) does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or non-essential analytics cookies for any visitor. Plausible Analytics operates without cookies and without processing personal data, and our Insights Hub and Intelligence Hub rely only on browser storage that is strictly necessary for the services users have requested (such as maintaining a logged-in session).
Our email campaign click tracking sets no cookie and reads no information from your device. It only records that a link we sent you was opened, and it is described in Section 2a and in our Privacy Notice.
For these reasons, we are not required to display a cookie consent banner under GDPR or the UK PECR. The OAuth sign-in redirects involve third-party services that operate under their own policies, which users agree to when choosing to sign in via Google or Microsoft.
We will update this policy if our use of cookies or local storage changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any revisions.
